Online Program Registration

With the introduction of online program registration: Each child will be required to present a Lindenhurst Memorial Library card in order to register for a Children's Program. A child is eligible for a Library card at birth. Please visit the Circulation Desk to register your child for a Library card.

Children, ages 3 to 7 years, and their adult caregivers. Come listen to stories, sing songs, and have fun!

PizzaCarry Out a Good Book!  
Winter Reading Club
Preschoolers and Grades K-8th
January 3-February 29, 2012
List all books read (or listened to) in your folder.  Bring the folder into the Children’s room once per week to get prizes. Readers who make four visits will receive an award certificate and be entered in an extra prize drawing. 
Register and pick up your folder beginning January 3, 2012.

Bring your favorite picture book from home and the librarian will read all the choices to the group.  Share a book you love with others and enjoy hearing books other children love.

ChessChess Workshop
Thursdays, January 12, 19, 26, and February 2, 2012

In each session participants will gain a better understanding of the ancient game of chess through a combination of instruction and supervised play against an opponent of similar ability.  We will have an opportunity to examine some great game-masters and understand the key elements of strategy and tactics and their effect on the game.  Boards and chess pieces will be provided.  Participants should have basic knowledge of chess play.
