ATTENTION PARENTS! With the introduction of online program registration: Each child will be required to present a Lindenhurst Memorial Library card in order to register for a Children's Program. A child is eligible for a Library card at birth. Please visit the Circulation Desk to register your child for a Library card.

Sign, Sing, and Play with your Toddler

Ages 3-5 with an adult. 


Sign, Sing, and Play is a fun filled hour of laughter and learning which will jumpstart your child’s language development.  While singing songs, nursery rhymes, and reading stories your children will learn to sign using American Sign Language.  In these 2 sessions, your child will learn the signs for the alphabet and their letter sounds, and the signs for weather and clothing while having a good time dancing and playing with bubbles.
  Registration begins on Tuesday, February 21, 2012.


Parent Child Workshop

Tuesdays, 10 am -11 am
Ages 18 months – 36 months with an adult. 


In this 4 week series, parent and toddler will enjoy playing with others, making a simple project, and participating in Circle Time.  A facilitator will be available to talk to parents informally about child-raising concerns.  Topics to be covered include child development, nutrition, music, and creative play.

Registration begins February 21, 2012 for the March session.
Registration begins April 3, 2012 for the April/May session.
Limit:  One session per child.

Parents and kids 4- years-old and up join us at the Lindenhurst Library for a Zumba dance party!  Zumba combines Latin rhythms and easy to follow moves to create a fun dance/fitness program for the entire family.  Move to the beat with instructor Bobbi Ann DePierro. 
Registration begins Saturday, March 31, 2012.


EARLY LITERACY STATION
Early Literary Station
The children's room has acquired a new educational computer for young children to use while being supervised by an adult. The computer contains over 30 educational games to be enjoyed by children ages 3 to 10.
Early Literary Station Children under age 8 must have an adult with them. Earbuds or a headset are required for use. The library sells earbuds for $4 each, or users may bring their own. Patrons may sign up for 30 minute sessions at the Children's Room Librarian's desk. Use is first-come, first-serve and time on the computer may not be reserved in advanced.

Free play and social interaction for preschoolers and parents.  The hour will conclude with a Circle Time led by a librarian.
No advance registration is needed. 
Space is allocated on a first-come, first-served basis, beginning at 9:30am.
